Nicole Dumont of NR Design, the project’s design professional, said the taller clearances are necessary to accommodate 14-foot header garage doors intended for large-vehicle and contractor storage. Dumont said the project received conditional approval from the planning and design review bodies, with architectural conditions such as color matching vent stacks.
Board members questioned visibility from the road and confirmed the applicant had coordinated with the planning commission. After discussion, the board granted both height variances in a single motion that passed 3–0.
The decision allows the applicant to proceed with the building designs as presented; the planning conditions noted in the packet remain part of the project record.
