Briarwood Estates board approves routine reports, schedules dam work and flags parking issue

On June 9, 2025, the Briarwood Action Association board convened and approved several routine items, scheduled maintenance on the community dam and roads, and addressed a parking complaint.
President Brandon Bueler called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. The May 2025 meeting minutes were read, amended and approved on a motion by Trustee John Steel, seconded by Trustee Kyle Bone; the motion carried unanimously. Treasurer Nancy Lewis presented the financial report, which the board accepted on a motion by Vice President Greg Davis, seconded by John Steel. Nancy Lewis also presented the utilities report, which the board similarly approved on a Greg Davis motion and John Steel second.
The board reviewed planned maintenance for community infrastructure. The dams report noted plans to complete 'rocking' the dam on June 23. Beach and lake work included repaired picnic tables placed on the beach and a cleaning and sanding performed by Precision. On road maintenance, the board discussed patching gravel roads with the remaining 1" minus, repairing a zero-turn mower (pulleys and belt replaced) and marking bad culverts for excavation. The board agreed to hire Braden Dion to perform weed-eating; Rob (who reported on road work) said he also plans to do some weed-eating this week. The report also noted a need for cold patch on blacktop roads and that a John Deere tractor requires a clutch repair; nine additional green poles for future signs were delivered and speed limit signs were added on Briarwood Terrace.
Security reported that guard Jim maintains a current list of resident reports and brought up a white SUV routinely parked at the school bus stop during school hours. Security asked the vehicle owner to move because parking near the school is limited while classes are in session.
The board went into a closed session to discuss legal matters, lots and back dues; no details from that session were disclosed in the minutes. The meeting was adjourned at 7:39 p.m. on a motion by Trustee Josh Brower, seconded by Trustee Jim Camden.
Next steps recorded in the minutes include the planned dam rocking on June 23, scheduling cold patch work on blacktop roads, and hiring Braden Dion for weed-eating; the board did not record further public actions from the closed session.
