Briarwood Action Association board approves minutes and reports, signs off on two new home plans

The Briarwood Action Association board met on Nov. 11, 2024, and approved routine meeting business, accepted committee reports and discussed several maintenance tasks for roads, the dam, lake and park. President Brandon Buehler called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.
The board accepted the Oct. 13, 2024 meeting minutes after a motion by Greg Davis and a second from Kyle Bone; the motion carried unanimously. Buehler presented the financial report; Davis again moved to accept it with Bone seconding, and the board approved the report unanimously. The Utilities report, presented by Greg Davis, was likewise accepted following a motion by Davis and a second from Bone. All three motions were recorded as carrying unanimously.
The Architectural Committee reported that Sours’ plans for two home lots were approved (this was recorded as a committee action reported to the board). Greg Davis said he will contact Ultra to arrange rip-rap placement and cutting at the dam to address shoreline concerns. On lake and beach maintenance, Buehler said he contacted Mickey Kays to retrieve the portable toilet from the beach and that the board will inspect picnic tables to determine whether board repairs or full table replacements are needed.
Roads remain a near-term maintenance priority: the board reported that gravel is being laid and grading completed as quickly as crews can work to repair road conditions. The back gate has been repaired and the board plans to purchase a new lock for the small lake gate. In the park and entrance area, Jim Camden replaced missing fence caps and secured loose ones; a volunteer named Rob will limb up trees in the park. The board is also checking options to install a new speed-limit sign at the front entrance.
Security had no incidents to report. The board noted that chicken-coop information has been added to the association rules and regulations page on the website, and that the website still needs the October minutes posted. The meeting was adjourned at 8:19 p.m.
