Briarwood Estates board unanimously approves two new home builds, accepts financial and utility reports

The Briarwood Estates board met on Aug. 12, 2024, and unanimously approved two new home builds while accepting the June minutes and both the financial and utilities reports.
Brandon Buehler, serving as chair for the meeting, called the session to order at 7:28 p.m. Heather Missey recorded the minutes. The board voted unanimously to accept the June 10, 2024 minutes after a motion by Greg Davis and a second from John Steel.
Greg Davis presented the financial report; Josh Brower moved to accept the report and Eilene Goldammer seconded. The board approved the financial report by unanimous vote. Greg Davis also presented the utilities report; Heather Missey moved to accept it, seconded by John Steel, and that motion carried unanimously.
On architectural business, JP and Courtney Mahn presented plans for a new home on Brandywine and Money Development presented plans for a new home on Stonegate. The board approved both builds in separate motions: the Brandywine approval was moved by Josh Brower and seconded by Greg Davis; the Stonegate approval was moved by Heather Missey and seconded by Greg Davis. Both motions carried unanimously.
Operational items and follow-ups included a dams report noting Briarwood is awaiting Ultra Excavating to place rip-rap on the dam, with Chair Brandon Buehler assigned to follow up. The lake was restocked with minnows, and the board noted the beach-area barrier is deteriorating; John Steel was asked to investigate parts for repair or replacement. Road maintenance efforts, including removal of busted rock at the back entrance by Money Development, were reported to have smoothed the approach up and down the hill.
For the park and entrance, Buehler said he will contact Cody Tighe’s insurance company about repairing the back gate. In new business, resident Don Kansteiner requested a locator tool; Josh Brower had emailed information to the board for review. The board also scheduled a fall yard sale for Oct. 4–5.
The board entered a closed session during the meeting; no public details were recorded in the minutes. The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m. after a motion from Eilene Goldammer and a second from John Steel.
