The City of Green Planning & Zoning Commission voted Oct. 16 to approve a parking expansion proposed at the Ron Marhofer property.
Dan Barney, presenting for the applicant, described converting a partially graveled area on the west end of the site into paved inventory parking with new asphalt, light poles sized to match existing fixtures (20-foot overall height), and improvements to the detention basin to meet stormwater-quality requirements. Barney said the project has been submitted to Summit County for permitting and that an EPA permit is on file.
Planning staff told the commission the parking layout preserves a required 50-foot buffer to the adjacent PD district and Green Village Nursing Home to the west, reviewed stormwater calculations and SWIP submittal, and confirmed the proposed 20-foot cutoff-style light poles meet code. Staff recommended conditional approval tied to standard permitting steps including land-disturbance permitting and preconstruction coordination.
Commissioners agreed the submissions satisfied the primary technical concerns and moved to approve. The motion passed on roll call.
Staff indicated follow-up will include issuance of a land-disturbance permit after final engineering review and a preconstruction meeting with soil and stormwater reviewers.
