Krotz Springs aldermen approve routine measures, apply for street grant and hire maintenance worker

KROTZ SPRINGS, La. — The Town of Krotz Springs Mayor and Board of Aldermen met March 11, 2025, and unanimously approved routine business while discussing local street and park repairs and a personnel hire.
Alderman Keith Ardoin moved to approve the minutes of the Feb. 11, 2025 meeting; Alderman Larry Martinez seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Alderman Nyssa Godwin moved to authorize payment of outstanding bills; Alderman Cindy Stelly seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Alderman Craig Burghdoff moved to approve the town's Financial Statements and Reconciliation Worksheets; Alderman Ardoin seconded and that motion also passed unanimously. The board then adjourned on a unanimous motion by Alderman Stelly, seconded by Alderman Burghdoff.
Mayor Carroll B. Snyder presided over the meeting. Chief Susie Snyder gave a brief police report, saying, "all is good in town." The minutes record that the maintenance supervisor was absent.
Under public comment the Veterans Memorial update was reported: the town plans to replace the sidewalk from the memorial to the pavilion, install benches and host a veterans lunch at the Community Center on Wednesday. Mayor Snyder said gates have been returned to Hill Park ball field and crews are repairing holes at both fields.
Mayor Snyder told the board the town is applying for a grant to repair streets and would like to resurface the town-hall parking lot; she also said District 6 will repair ditches and culverts on Cypress Street. The minutes record that Tabitha Mires was hired in the Maintenance Department.
An announcement noted a Second Harvest food distribution scheduled for March 18 and 19. The meeting was recorded as adjourned following the routine motions.
