Brentwood schedules January repairs and pilots for streetlights, crosswalk and sidewalks

Public Works Director Dan Gummersheimer told the Public Safety Commission on Jan. 7 that crews will replace an obsolete streetlight control cabinet on the north side of Manchester Road (east of Dorothy Avenue) in early January 2026 to restore lighting; additional replacement wiring and a new streetlight near the former Circle K remain to be installed.
Gummersheimer said staff contacted Tapco to confirm delivery of equipment needed for a McKnight Road crosswalk pilot; once delivery is scheduled, staff will rent a lift and assist with installation. He said a survey about installing solar streetlights on Mari Kay Court and Douglas Court will be distributed in January and recommended using internal labor for those dead-end streets to avoid underground power work.
Precision Concrete Cutting has started concrete cutting on public sidewalks in Brentwood Forest, beginning at North Swan Circle and Swallow Drive and then moving to Wrenwood Lane; work is expected to finish in January 2026. Gummersheimer also reported the decorative metal fence on the Litzsinger Road Bridge was damaged in a motorcycle accident; the city is coordinating with insurance for repairs and reimbursement.
