River Ridge board accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman, seeks candidates for Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District board unanimously accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term to Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The board discussed outreach to fill the unexpired term: because this is an appointment rather than an election, staff and the Meadows’ property‑owner association will e‑blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualifications and the process for submitting a resume or letter of interest prior to the next meeting. The board also noted that administration of the oath of office and required ethics training materials will be provided to any incoming appointee.
The acceptance motion was made by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly and approved unanimously by the supervisors in attendance. Mrs. Adams said she will include any candidate submissions on the next meeting agenda for board consideration.
What happens next: staff will solicit candidates and present any submitted materials at the next board meeting for a formal appointment to fill Seat 1.
