Utility board approves minutes, reinstates lake-lot licenses and authorizes a Lake Lot modification

The Weatherford Municipal Utility Board recorded several formal actions during its meeting.
The board approved the minutes of the municipal utility board meeting held 01/29/2026 and passed the consent agenda items (6 a–c). The board accepted payments and reinstated nine previously delinquent lake-lot licenses after staff collection efforts; the affected lots were Lot 41, Lot 115, Lot 296, Lot 380, Lot 388, Lot 406, Lot 491, Lot 493 and Lot 627. Heidi Wilder moved to accept the payments and reinstate the licenses; Ken Davis seconded and the motion passed.
The board also authorized the city manager to execute a construction contract with Capital Underground Utilities LLC for the Franklin Pressure Plain and Fort Worth Highway Water Improvements Project in an amount not to exceed $2,999,605; the motion passed following presentation and Q&A.
Following executive session, the board approved a modification to the license agreement for Lake Lot 156 to add an adjacent southern section of approximately 4,466 square feet. The board authorized the city manager to execute a new license agreement incorporating the additional property with an increase of $1,380.26 to the current annual license fee and contingent upon the licensee providing an official survey and payment of a one-time fee of $61,031.15. The motion to authorize that modification was made by Zach Smith and seconded by Doctor Tom Novak.
The board took no action on two executive-session items related to competitive matters for wind/solar contracts and deliberations regarding security for the water purification plant, and it did not act on the Lake Weatherford Marina Lease Agreement (item 10d). No citizen comments on non-agenda items were made before the board adjourned at 1:31 p.m.
