Lindstrom — The City Council agreed to another limited extension Tuesday for the Albrecht Landing final plat to give the developer time to finish outstanding annexation paperwork, a tree-preservation plan and an open-space easement.
City Administrator Mr. Ondham told the council developer Mark Albrecht requested additional time to complete remaining items after earlier extensions. "We have made some progress," Mr. Ondham said, describing ongoing talks about a park-dedication fee and land for a trail connection along Maria Avenue.
Council members debated whether past extensions had become open-ended and whether the city needed firmer deadlines and enforcement. Mr. Ondham said Albrecht "fully admitted he did not execute what he needed to execute in the last 3 months, but he's asking for another extension," and added staff had a meeting set with the developer to work through the development agreement.
After amendments to clarify a definitive date, the council approved a 90‑day extension ending June 29, 2026. The motion included language that staff will continue to negotiate the development agreement and that the council expects the developer to submit the specified documents within the extension period; if not completed, the council retains the option to deny the plat and require the developer to restart the process.
Staff said some annexation timelines are outside the city's control (county/state processing) and recommended flexibility on technical windows while still expecting the developer to complete submittals promptly. The council asked staff to email members any specific requests or outstanding items so members can help shepherd the effort.
