Resident raises long-running harassment complaint; borough attorney directs legal channels

She said initial court reports indicated probable cause but later reports changed to "no probable cause," and that she has sought help from police, code enforcement and the courts with inconsistent results.
Borough Attorney Mark A. DiPisa advised the council not to comment or intervene because the matter falls outside the borough council’s jurisdiction. He apologized to Ms. DeGennaro and recommended she continue to pursue remedies with the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, municipal court and private counsel.
The council closed the public-comment period after the exchange and took no formal action on the matter during the meeting.
