Council approves multiple rezones; AMH Development’s site downzoned and park parcel pledged

On ordinance 26-16, a downzoning of property described as 2236 River Road, an attorney for the developer described the change as a reduction of an approved multifamily project. “We are currently approved for a 132 multifamily units. We'd be looking at 47 homes here, and we've agreed to dedicate the southern parcels for a public park,” the attorney said during the public hearing. Councilmember Barker noted the planning director’s recommendation and said deed restrictions would be placed on the small-acreage parcel once transferred to the city.
Clerk announcements in the transcript show 26-13 and 26-14 each passing 9-0; the clerk also announced that 26-16 passed in the roll call as recorded. The council’s discussion emphasized that all three items had been reviewed through the planning process.
