Clarkson Valley aldermen approve special-use permits for two oversized wall signs

City Administrator/City Clerk Megan Eldridge and City Attorney Patrick Butler were listed as in attendance.
Megan Eldridge read the public hearing notice for a Special Use Permit requested by Rockwood School District to allow a wall-mounted sign exceeding four square feet at 2351 Clarkson Road. Acting President Lin Midyett opened the hearing, asked whether anyone wished to speak in support or opposition, and, with no speakers appearing, closed the hearing.
Eldridge then read the public hearing notice for a similar Special Use Permit request by Forest Hills Country Club for a wall-mounted sign at 36 Forest Club Drive. Emma Gore presented the request on behalf of Forest Hills Country Club. There were no additional speakers, and Midyett closed that hearing as well.
Both permits were placed on the consent agenda as Resolution No. 26-03 (2351 Clarkson Road, Rockwood School District) and Resolution No. 26-04 (36 Forest Club Drive, Forest Hills Country Club). Alderman Jeff Schweig moved to approve the consent agenda, and Alderman Tracy Nuelle seconded. A voice vote resulted in a unanimous affirmative result, and Acting President Midyett declared the motion passed.
Alderman Brock MacDonald moved to adjourn the meeting; Alderman Jeff Schweig seconded. A voice vote again was unanimous, and Midyett adjourned the meeting at 5:34 p.m.
The actions approve Special Use Permits allowing each listed property to display a wall-mounted sign with an outline area greater than four square feet. No public opposition or conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes. The meeting record lists Megan Eldridge as City Administrator/City Clerk and Lin Midyett as Acting President for the Board of Aldermen.
