New aldermen sworn in as Clarkson Valley board convenes May 5 meeting

The Clarkson Valley Board of Aldermen convened at 6:30 p.m. on May 5 and formally accepted certified election results, after which Jeff Schweig (Ward 1), Brock MacDonald (Ward 2) and Lin Midyett (Ward 3) were sworn in.
City Administrator and Clerk Megan Eldridge read the certified returns; Alderman Andrew Low moved to accept the results and Alderman Courtney Birkel seconded. A voice vote was unanimous, and President Midyett administered the oaths to the newly elected aldermen.
The meeting proceeded with roll call, which recorded Mayor Sue McNamara and Alderman Tracy Nuelle as absent and confirmed a quorum. President Midyett then led the Pledge of Allegiance and the board approved the published agenda by unanimous voice vote.
The board later took up other business including public comments on proposed solar-energy regulations, the passage of an ordinance authorizing a postage meter lease and preliminary discussion of the 2026-2027 municipal budget. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
