The Newell City Council voted Feb. 25 to approve Resolution 06-26 authorizing the sale and conveyance of city-owned property at 402 S. Nelson Street to Char and Elwyn Jeppeson for $100. Mayor Justin Lyman opened a public hearing on the sale; no members of the public spoke and the hearing was closed at 5:01 p.m.
Councilmember Steve Taylor moved to approve the resolution and Councilmember Bill Henrich seconded. A recorded voice vote showed Councilmembers Quinten Robinson, Larry Nielsen, Steve Taylor and Bill Henrich voting in favor; Dennis Ziegler was absent. The resolution authorizes conveyance of the parcel to the Jeppesons for the stated sum; the council did not record any opposing votes or conditions on the sale during the session.
The sale follows the hearing procedure required by the council. The meeting record shows the council concluded the business item and moved on to budget discussion; the council adjourned at 5:16 p.m.
