Allentown honors William Allen High School baseball for historic season

At the start of its June 10 special meeting, Allentown City Council read a proclamation recognizing William Allen High School’s baseball team, the Canaries, for a historic season.
The proclamation noted the team’s Eastern Pennsylvania Conference championship, the PIAA District 11 6A title and a 20–16 record that advanced the team to the PIAA state tournament for the first time in 31 years. Council named coaches acknowledged in the proclamation and invited players, families and school staff forward to accept certificates and pose for photos.
A coach thanked the community for support and urged continued investment in youth resources to sustain positive outcomes. The council presented proclamations for players and coaches to take home.
