Hasbrouck Heights honors retiring police officers; council accepts two firefighter resignations

The Hasbrouck Heights Mayor and Council used their March 25, 2025 meeting to recognize retiring members of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department and to accept two firefighter resignations.
Mayor Ron Kistner presented plaques honoring Sergeant Alan Baker and Police Officer Brian Donohue. Patrolman Jared Cooke and Patrolman Kevin Condal each spoke briefly to acknowledge the retirees' service. The ceremony preceded routine council business.
During the communications portion of the meeting Acting Borough Clerk Michelle Sery read memos from Fire Chief Rob Knobloch advising the resignations of firefighters Steven Greco and Jack Muller; the council accepted those resignations by unanimous motion.
Councilman Bobby Bing also presented the Hasbrouck Heights Little League championship teams and invited coaches to recognize their teams' achievements. Bing earlier in the work session reported Little League activity: 14 teams, 16 sponsors, first games anticipated around April 8 and possible league opening-day celebrations in early to mid-April.
The council took no additional personnel actions at the meeting; several staffing matters (dispatcher hires, testing for new officers) were noted as in progress by Councilwoman Susan McGuire.
