Hasbrouck Heights council adopts amendment to development fees and affordable housing trust fund

The Hasbrouck Heights Mayor and Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 2573 on March 25, 2025, amending Chapter 133 of the borough code to revise development fees and provisions for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
Acting Borough Clerk Michelle Sery opened the ordinancepublic hearing and, with no members of the public requesting to speak, the council voted to pass the ordinance on second and final reading. Sery read the adoption notice, directing the clerk to publish the ordinance in The Record.
The ordinance text as read was identified as an amendment to Section 133-31, "Development Fees and Affordable Housing Trust Fund." No public testimony was recorded at the hearing. The councilaction was procedural and, per the clerkreading, will be followed by publication and the ordinance taking effect according to borough rules.
The adoption followed consent by the five members present: Councilmen Michael Sickels, Joseph Samperi and Bobby Bing and Councilwomen Susan McGuire and Charlotte Sodora. Councilman Christopher Blum was recorded absent. The council did not record dissenting votes during the public hearing and adoption.
Next steps: the Borough Clerk is to publish the ordinance adoption in The Record as required by local notice procedures; no additional hearings were scheduled at the meeting.
