Brentwood adjusts 2026 sanitation pickup schedule around holidays

Dan from public works said that when a holiday falls on Monday (for example, Martin Luther King Day), there will be no yard‑waste pickup that week and Monday’s route will move to Tuesday, Tuesday’s route to Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday routes will remain the same. The change is intended to avoid Saturday make‑up work and reduce the need for crews to work on the holiday with limited backup.
Staff said they are using CodeRED notifications, the city e‑newsletter and the quarterly newsletter to inform residents of the revised schedule and asked aldermen to share the information if they hear resident concerns.
No formal action was required; the update was provided as part of the city administrator/public works report.
