Design Review Board approves Portage Lakes Boat Club sign

The City of Greene Design Review Board voted to approve a sign design for the Portage Lakes Boat Club on March 4 during its regularly scheduled meeting.

Michelle Miller, the project presenter, described revisions made to the original design to improve structural stability. She said the cabinet is intended to weigh "maybe 16 to 70 pounds" (approximate), will be supported by 3-inch schedule‑40 poles set in concrete footers, and that the faux‑brick cabinet will "have cutouts in the side so that we can weld in steel tubing that will attach the sign," providing the primary structural support. Miller also said the proposal includes waterproof solar lanterns with warm lighting and a nautical four‑strand fiber rope attached with construction adhesive and screws, and that landscaping had been coordinated with zoning and the customer.

After the presentation a motion to approve the submitted sign design was made and seconded.
