Stronach board approves routine purchases, hears fire-department report and discusses parks

Mr. Lindeman moved and Ms. Zoscsak seconded approval of the corrected meeting agenda; the board then accepted the minutes of Sept. 10, the treasurer’s report and monthly bills (motion by Mr. Lindeman, seconded by Mr. Skiera) by unanimous roll-call vote.
The fire department reported 16 calls in September and requested a new printer at $249 and six Mega Movers nylon sheets at $34 each. Motions to purchase both items were made and carried unanimously. The board also approved purchasing six new chairs for the hall at $229 apiece (motion by Mr. Lindeman, seconded by Mr. Vadeboncoeur) and the purchase of required labor posters (motion by Ms. Zoscsak, seconded by Mr. Skiera).
Planning and zoning updates noted ongoing map redesigns to address water overlays and setbacks, and the Zoning Board of Appeals announced the death of member Rick Linke; advertisements ran Oct. 6–8 to fill the vacancy and to recruit members for other township boards, including the Board of Review and the fire department. Public comment included an item about replacing two basketball hoops and backboards in the parking lot, which the board said had been approved in an earlier meeting.
