During unfinished business and public comment at the Sept. 10 Stronach Township Board meeting, residents and board members discussed park maintenance, website progress and byway concerns.
Public commenters identified as Rick and Scotty asked the board to power-wash playground equipment, repair playground components and repaint picnic tables at Claybank Park. Board members recorded those maintenance requests for follow-up.
Under unfinished business the board reviewed progress on a township website—staff are gathering photos and department content, updating the logo and developing a tentative menu and department listings. Board members also discussed facility projects at Stronach Park and Claybank Park: stair removal at the north end of Stronach Park (tentatively scheduled for September), stump removal and landscaping at Claybank Park (tentative completion in October), gates for Claybank Park (tentative October), and replacement of a grill that has been installed plus repair and relocation of a second grill closer to the pavilion.
The board reported everything for a new sign is set but installation awaits permits and an electrical disconnect; the sign installation target is September. The board discussed an M-55 Byway resolution but, citing concern about giving up local control, tabled the resolution until further contact can be made.
Items listed for the next meeting include new chairs and tables for the hall, project updates and a presentation by Michigan CLASS on investment options.
