Assembly adopts ceremonial resolutions and advances multiple consent-calendar bills

Miss Solange spoke in support of Assembly Resolution No. 96, a legislative resolution asking the governor to proclaim February 2025 Black History Month, saying that “black history is American history” and noting ongoing disparities in education and maternal health for Black women. The House adopted the resolution by voice vote.
The Assembly also adopted Assembly Resolution No. 97, asking the governor to proclaim February 2025 Burn Awareness Week; that resolution was adopted without recorded opposition.
On the consent calendar, members considered multiple bills. The Clerk read several items (calendar numbers 4–10). Assembly Bill 2027 (calendar 7) was called and recorded as passed; the Clerk announced the tally as “Ayes, 144; No's, 0.” Assembly Bill 2168 (calendar 8) was also passed; the Clerk stated that action will take effect on the 180th day. Assembly Bill 2565 (calendar 9) was laid aside. Assembly Bill 3922 (calendar 10) was read and passed; the Clerk announced the vote as “Ayes, 144; Nos, 0” and stated that the action will take effect immediately.
Several items were laid aside for later consideration, and some bills were advanced according to routine consent procedures. There was no substantive floor debate recorded on the bills that were advanced or laid aside during this session.
Before adjourning, Assemblymember Clark announced that the majority conference would convene immediately after session in Hearing Room C. A motion to adjourn was adopted and the House reconvening time was set for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11.
The session included several ceremonial introductions — guests from Fordham Prep, a Girl Scouts delegation, Carol Bullock from the Pride Center on Staten Island, and the executive director of MANCave Health — who were extended privileges of the floor but were not part of the legislative votes reported on the consent calendar.
Actions recorded at today’s session will appear in the official Assembly journal and votes will be entered into the clerk’s record.
