The High Bridge Borough Council on March 14 approved a consent agenda that included multiple municipal appointments and administrative items, authorized change orders for the Center Street and Hart Street water-main replacement projects, and approved permission for a borough Criterium race.
The consent motion (covering Resolutions 103–111 and 116–119) passed on a roll-call vote with six 'yes' votes. The council then took separate recorded votes to approve Resolution 112 (borough event — Criterium Race) after questions about the proposed route and whether paving work would be required. Council members noted that this year’s route would stay within borough limits and that the roads intended for the event are in acceptable condition.
Councilman Silvestri described the intent of Resolutions 113–115 as cost-saving measures for the water-main replacement projects; Mayor Lee and Councilwoman Matos commented that federal funding eligibility and certificates of eligibility had been considered in planning the work.
The council also introduced Ordinance 2024-010, the 1 Main Street Redevelopment Plan. The motion to introduce passed; Mayor Lee said the ordinance will be published in the Hunterdon Review and/or the Hunterdon County Democrat with a public hearing scheduled for April 11, 2024.
Finally, the council approved the bill list totaling $774,591.66 on a roll-call vote.
