The Danbury Planning Commission voted on June 17 to give a positive referral to the City Council for a proposed city water main extension at 15 Great Pasture Road to serve a development of contractor offices. Planning staff reported the municipal water main already exists on Great Pasture and that the extension is needed so an internal looped main can be city‑owned rather than private.
Deputy Planning Director Jennifer Grama said staff had no objection and that the request "complies with the Plan of Conservation and Development" and is within the existing water service area. A motion for a positive referral was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Why it matters: the referral clears the next procedural step so the water main can be extended and dedicated to the city as part of the site's site‑plan implementation.
Next steps: The matter proceeds to the City Council for final action on the water main extension.
