Staff (Joanne) said the draft included a few ministerial updates and updated references to the Freedom of Information Act and city ordinances. Commissioners discussed whether the bylaws should explicitly cite Zoom or other virtual platforms; Joanne reported Corporation Counsel advised not to single out a particular vendor and that agenda notices listing place and time are sufficient. One commissioner noted the earlier start would require updated advertising and schedules for upcoming public hearings.
Commissioner Helen moved to approve the revisions and the motion was seconded; the commission approved the change by voice vote. Chair stated the revisions will go into effect for the next meeting on August 7, 2024.
