Board approves consent agenda, $1.88 million in bills and multiple contracts

The Henry Hudson Regional Board of Education on Nov. 19 approved a consolidated consent agenda that included bills & claims of $1,881,962.74, multiple personnel and curriculum items, contracts for student trips and transportation, and memoranda of agreement with local law enforcement agencies.
Business Administrator Janet Sherlock presented financial items and contracts. The board approved the BILLS & CLAIMS for November 2025 totaling $1,881,962.74, and ratified investment reports and transfers. The board also approved a project agreement with Prototype Design Group for arborist and landscape design services not to exceed $8,655 to be reimbursed from the Trees for Schools grant, and authorized contracts for Camp Bernie trips and bus transportation (Academy Bus Tours and Michael Loori Bus Co.). The YMCA Camp Bernie contracts were approved for Highlands and Atlantic Highlands elementary 6th-grade trips with district payment of staff/chaperones and a student cost capped at $165 per person.
The superintendent’s consent agenda included the district endorsement and submission of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) for the 2025–2026 school year with the Highlands Borough Police Department, Atlantic Highlands Borough Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Office of the Attorney General; principals were designated as liaisons to local police departments as required by the MOAs.
The consent agenda and related personnel actions (leaves, home instruction, extra-curricular appointments) were moved and approved by roll call where recorded. The board entered executive session later in the evening and returned with no public action taken, then adjourned.
