Roots Rising seeks CPA funds largely for deer fencing and program expansion

She detailed volunteer infrastructure that supports the project and said staffing includes an experienced farmer. She told the committee that Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds would be applied only to eligible portions of the project and that the organization’s immediate priority for CPA support would likely be deer fencing to protect crops.
Veccia also said Roots Rising intends to launch an apprenticeship program in 2027. Committee members expressed support and interest; no funding decision was taken that evening.
