The Auburn City Council on June 22 approved several routine measures by roll call vote, including the consent calendar, annual business improvement district (BID) assessments for Old Town and Downtown Auburn, and placement of the FY 2026–2027 sewer service charge on the Placer County tax roll.
Consent calendar: A council member moved to adopt the consent agenda without items removed and the council approved the blanket motion. The clerk recorded votes in favor from Council Member Amara, Dowden Calvio, Riddell Harris and Mayor Davis.
BID assessments: Finance analyst Christina Shaffer presented the second-step public hearing for the BID assessments and noted the assessment rates remain unchanged from last year. The public hearing opened and closed with no testimony, and council approved by resolution to levy the FY 2026–2027 assessments for the Old Town and Downtown Auburn business improvement districts.
Sewer assessment: Public Works Director Mitchell Dean described the annual process of placing sewer service charges on the county tax roll and noted a 5% rate increase was adopted previously by council. With no public comment, council voted to place the sewer service charge for FY 2026–2027 on the Placer County tax roll.
Recorded votes: For each resolution the clerk recorded the same voting pattern: Council Member Amara—yes; Dowden Calvio—aye; Riddell Harris—aye; Mayor Davis—aye. Council Member Holmes was noted absent.
