The Board of Education of the Riceville Community School District on May 19 approved the district’s District and Academic Plan (DCAP), multiple policy readings, several personnel contracts and resignations, and agreements for student services.
The board voted 5–0 to adopt the DCAP after a motion by board member Eastman and a second from McCarthy. Earlier in the meeting the board approved the second reading of a batch of policies (listed by number in the agenda) on a 5–0 vote and approved the first reading of policies 408.1–414 by the same margin.
The board approved personnel actions including the hire of Jana Harken as a paraeducator, appointment of Brittany Boderman as cheer coach and Bryce Conway as JV girls basketball coach; it also accepted resignations listed in the agenda and approved Rebecca Crooks as a substitute teacher. Those personnel motions were moved by Hale and seconded by Eastman and carried unanimously.
The board also approved agreements with Keystone for a social worker, a technology specialist, AEA services and a contract for transferring funds, following a motion by Hale and a second from Eastman.
