During the public-comment period at the Henry Hudson Regional PK-12 Board of Education reorganization meeting, two residents asked procedural and safety questions and received responses from the board president.
Mark Fisher of Atlantic Highlands asked whether the three-minute rule for public comments would be strictly enforced going forward and raised a complaint that three cars were parked in a fire zone near the school. Board President Diane Knox replied that the three-minute rule would be enforced "as per board policy" and said the board would look into the parking concern.
Jessica Noonan of Highlands asked how leadership votes are conducted and how the board fills a member vacancy when someone resigns. Knox explained that leadership votes are decided by a majority of board members present at the meeting and that the board appoints a replacement when a member resigns.
Board members offered brief remarks thanking departing members and congratulating incoming leadership before the meeting was adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
