Howard County approves Rocco Kitchen & Coffee license for Hickory Ridge Village Center

Howard County’s Alcohol Beverage Hearing Board unanimously granted a new Class B beer, wine and liquor seven-day on-sale license to SRC Hospitality Holdings LLC, trading as Rocco Kitchen & Coffee, for a 2,400-square-foot restaurant with a 625-square-foot exterior patio in the Hickory Ridge Village Center.
Attorney Matthew Speak presented applicants Bradley Canfield and Samantha Rocco Canfield, who described long local ties and hospitality experience. Canfield said he has worked at Merriweather Post Pavilion since 1982 and that alcohol will be a small portion of revenue, limited to brunch mimosas, Bloody Marys and a few canned craft beers. “It’s a very very small piece of the puzzle,” he said.
Applicants said they will staff the location with managers and employees drawn in part from Merryweather’s trained workforce; all customer-facing staff will be trained in alcohol awareness. The board asked about the converted bank layout and the existing drive-through; applicants said the drive-through will be used for mobile orders only and that alcohol will not be sold to-go through the drive lane. After deliberation a board member moved to grant the license; the motion carried unanimously and the applicants waived appeal.
