Danbury City’s Board of Awards approved Friday a $27,776 contract amendment to RHS Consulting Design to provide shop and working drawing review and design services during construction for the Kennedy Avenue Bridge (04176) rehabilitation, Purchasing Agent Chipotle said.
Chipotle read a proposal dated June 4, 2026, and said RHS is the current department engineer and will perform the additional services under its on‑call contract. The purchasing agent read the project charge code into the record: BRKennedyDot3041-7000-O47503.
A member of the board (identified in the transcript as speaker 3) moved to award RHS the additional services as engineer of record; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously after no discussion. Tom Hughes, superintendent of construction services, was present for the item and the board recorded the proposal and approval in the meeting minutes.
The award is for design review and construction‑phase services for the Kennedy Avenue Bridge rehabilitation; the purchasing agent noted the work will be provided under RHS’s existing on‑call contract with the city. The board recorded the vote as unanimous.
