At the April 21 meeting the council approved multiple planning items with limited public opposition.
A conditional use to allow container stacking at 1814 and 1828 South Military Highway — an expansion of an existing United Rentals operation — was approved with stipulations, including a three‑high stacking limit and 24‑hour fire‑department access; the motion passed unanimously. Applicant Grady Palmer described the site as set back from Military Highway and screened by existing trees.
A conditional‑use permit for a general‑contractor warehouse and outside storage at 1713 Pocketty Road in the Fentress Airfield Overlay was also approved with stipulations after staff and the Navy reviewed and recommended approval; the applicant said total traffic generation would be low (fewer than 10 trips a day) and nearby residents registered no opposition.
Council also heard miscellaneous announcements and moved into two closed‑meeting votes on property negotiations and board candidate interviews before adjourning.
