Resident tells Vienna council she’s filed police case after repeated neighbor harassment

Sarah Hickman, a longtime Vienna resident who said she lives at 147 East Street Northeast, told the Town Council on Feb. 3 that she has filed a police case after what she described as repeated harassment by a neighbor. "I have already filed a case, and I have a case number with the police station," Hickman said during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
Hickman described incidents she said included apparent vandalism to her vehicle — "peanut butter all over my car door" and handwriting on her windshield — and said she has supporting emails and other documents she is willing to give to town staff. She identified herself as a single mother and a caregiver and told the council she feared for her safety: "I don't know if he's gonna kill me one of these days," she said.
Mayor Colbert asked staff to collect Hickman's materials so the council could review them, and staff told her they would follow up. Hickman said she would provide documents to town staff.
The remark came during the meeting's non-agenda public-comment period; the council did not take formal action during the meeting on the complaint. Town staff indicated they would review any documentation the resident provides and follow up with her and with the appropriate town or law-enforcement channels.
The meeting proceeded to council reports and agenda items, including motions on appointments and land-use matters.
