Chula community center rentals, events and alcohol vendor search approved

Kati Westcott, who oversees community-center scheduling, told the Chula Board of Aldermen the center had three paid rentals in February and three scheduled in March; she said one March renter, Josh Teter, would drop a $100 check at city hall and that the center will host church uses and 4H meetings. "There were 3 paid rentals in February," Kati said, adding one May reservation is already prepaid.
Westcott listed planned community events: a taco dinner on April 11, 2026; a garage sale chaired by Tanya Anderson scheduled for either June 20 or June 27; and a street fair set for Sept. 19, 2026. She also turned in bills for trash bags and paper towels and noted a door-jamb issue at the community center that is interfering with a door lock; she said she was checking with the state before deciding on operational changes.
Alderman Geremy Bru moved that staff be authorized to look for another alcohol vendor for the street fair; Alderman Kyle Gramenz seconded and the motion passed 3-0.

Council and staff discussed small maintenance items (door trim and weatherstripping) plus scheduling details that affect community groups including the cemetery board, 4-H, and local churches.
