Warren Hills Regional Board asks for more detail on 2025–26 budget; Finance Committee to meet March 13

Warren Hills Regional Board of Education members on March 11, 2025 spent their regular meeting reviewing the 2025–26 budget proposal and asked administration for more detailed information before taking further action.

Board President Alfred Coscia opened the meeting and Donnamarie Palmiere, the district's business administrator and board secretary, recorded roll and attendance. Members present included Molly Fraumeni, Jean Hansen, Erik Heller, Amy Kemp, Lisa Marshall and Paula Merrill; Thomas Dufner and Corey Piasecki were noted absent.

During the budget work session the board asked for additional detail in several areas of the proposed 2025–26 budget so members could assess program and staffing impacts. The board directed the Finance Committee to meet again on March 13, 2025, to review the requested information and return recommendations to the full board.

In the public-comment portion of the meeting, public commenter Mrs. Knittel said her son and another Warren Hills student had been offered computer-science internships and that schools in the district are examining Advanced Placement participation and dual-enrollment options for students.

The board approved a motion to enter executive session at 8:05 p.m. to discuss matters confidential by law, personnel matters and attorney/client privilege. The motion to enter executive session was made by Lisa Marshall and seconded by Amy Kemp and passed by full board consent. The board reconvened and adjourned at 8:50 p.m.; the adjournment motion was made by Molly Fraumeni and seconded by Jean Hansen and approved by full board consent.

Next steps: the Finance Committee is scheduled to meet March 13, 2025 to review additional information and prepare recommendations for the board. No budget votes were recorded at the March 11 meeting.
