Planning board memorializes approval for 810 North 2nd Avenue application

The Highland Park Planning Board on Feb. 12 voted to memorialize its approval of an application for 810 North 2nd Avenue (resolution P2025-02), after a brief exchange over whether the draft accurately reflected testimony from an earlier hearing.

Chair called for consideration of the final form of resolution P2025-02 and turned discussion to the board attorney. Roger Thomas, the board attorney, identified a disputed sentence in the draft that said the proposed plans "will reduce impervious coverage" and explained the line should match what was testified to at the original hearing.

A board member raised a question about whether the resolution misstates Mr. Murphy’s testimony; several board members and Thomas agreed that the resolution should be an accurate reflection of the record. "The resolution should reflect accurately what he said," Thomas said, adding that if the original statement was a misstatement, the record still reflects it. After that exchange Thomas withdrew his suggested modification and offered the resolution as submitted.

With no other substantive amendments proposed, a motion to approve the memorializing resolution was made and seconded. The board took a roll-call vote and the motion carried. Board members recorded on the roll call as voting "yes" included Mister Grescher, Mister Chin, Mister Hout, Mister Laniero, Mister Stone Cardenell, Mister Williams and Miss Hand. One member noted uncertainty about their earlier attendance but no change to the outcome was recorded.

The approval formalizes the board’s previous action on the application and completes the board’s memorialization of the decision. No further conditions or amendments beyond a clerical correction to the record were identified.
