The council carried a final-reading ordinance to provide an additional $300,000 from the streets and drainage fund for the SD 2505 Benton Road street-repairs project and similarly approved an emergency amendment allocating $33,800 from the same fund for public-safety needs. The council also adopted a final-reading amendment to code sections governing the facility located at 630 Barksdale Boulevard.
On first reading the council introduced a cooperative endeavor agreement authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with the governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance relating to the Bossier City drainage master-plan scoping project; staff confirmed the ordinance would use riverboat gaming capital funds set up for the earlier phase of the project. The council also introduced an ordinance authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with Lakewood Villas Development LLC for the widening of Shed Road (first reading) and approved an ordinance to enlarge city boundaries by annexing roughly 1.233 acres north of Tiburon Street.
