Brittany Silvestrini and Lisa Wahle said they met with Blue Earth by Zoom; the company’s proposal would cover two bins collected weekly at an estimated town cost of roughly $3,000 annually. Commissioners discussed seeking a regional waste authority solution rather than having the town assume ongoing operational costs. Cindy said she hopes for a regional solution.
The minutes also record a letter from Essex Sustainability about a restaurant in town that reportedly lacks recycling services. Commissioners noted that the town cannot accommodate dedicating one or two parking spaces for public bins and that restaurants will need to find on-site solutions.
