Select Board approves contract renewal with Berkshire Health Alliance for community nursing services

Board of Health member Kathy Korte asked the board to renew the contract with Berkshire Health Alliance to provide nursing services—blood pressure screenings, vaccination clinics, foot care and other services important to the town's aging population—and the Select Board approved the contract unanimously.
The Select Board voted June 22 to approve renewal of the town's contract with Berkshire Health Alliance (via the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission) to provide community nursing services, Board of Health member Kathy Korte said.
Korte explained the town contracted with the Alliance after the retirement of West Stockbridges community nurse three years ago. She said the Alliance delivers services that are particularly important for older residents, including blood pressure screenings, flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics, foot care and other health programs. Korte and Town Administrator Marie Ryan said they have discussed ways to expand services if the Council on Aging increases program development and outreach.
Kathleen Keresey moved, Andy Krouss seconded, and the board unanimously approved and authorized execution of the agreement.
