Yarmouth Board says railroadplan meets regulations but raises concerns on herbicide notifications

Barry Lewis presented the Massachusetts Coastal RailroadYearly Operational Plan for Vegetation Control in place of the railroad representative and told the Board the plan is acceptable to the Health Department and complies with Board regulations. Board members recalled conversations from last year about the timing of applications and voiced objections to herbicide use in some areas. Hillard Boskey specifically expressed concern about notifying nearby houses, including short-term renters, and the Board said it has additional questions for Carl Lawson, who could not attend.
The Board did not take a formal vote on the plan; members requested additional information and notification details from the railroad before acting further.
