"The total cost for this project is coming in about 1,700,000," Flight said, and noted the plan includes curb ramps, surface restoration and other roadway work beyond the fixtures themselves.
Flight described outreach plans to the Amagansett lighting district residents, presentations to ACAC, the Architectural Review Board and the historical society, and said the project would be brought to ARB because of the hamlet’s historic district status. He also noted concerns raised by some residents and dark‑sky advocates about fixture choice and visual impacts on nearby homes; board members urged direct outreach to affected property owners and said ARB review is appropriate.
Next steps are additional resident outreach, ARB review for fixture design in the historic area, and consideration for inclusion in the town’s 2027 capital plan.
