He described a spot parallel to a retaining wall along Lakeside Boulevard that can accommodate the two buses the school uses (each vehicle described as under 40 feet long).
"The students don't drive to class," Heffley said. "They're coming in those buses." The board asked for a clear parking layout and striping to ensure buses park predictably; Heffley said the school would stripe the stalls and add signs to mark them as bus parking.
A board member moved to approve overnight parking in the identified area with required striping and signage; members voiced their support and the motion was carried. The school asked whether it could begin using the spaces immediately, before the memorialization paperwork was finalized; the board indicated it could start parking there while memorialization is completed.
What happens next: Elite Prep Academy will stripe and sign the two bus-only spaces and may begin using them while the board's decision is memorialized in writing.
