Board previews fee increases, LIEP submission and Safe Return to School review

Administration proposed increasing turf-field rental fees from $100 to $200 beginning July 1 to match municipal rates and reduce wear on district fields; officials said district rental revenue is modest, roughly $8,500 in recent years. The board was told the item will be placed on the June 24 agenda for a vote.
The board also reviewed the six-month Safe Return to School plan required for federal COVID-related funding, with only date changes proposed and no plan to return to remote learning. A certified resolution to file the updated plan will be prepared for the June 24 meeting.
On instruction, the Language Instruction Education Program (LIEP) three-year plan—covering services for multilingual learners—was introduced; the plan begins the 2024–25 cycle and must be submitted to the state by July 10, with formal board approval requested at the June 24 meeting.
