The KELLER ISD Board of Trustees on May 2025 formally approved the canvass of the May 3 trustee election and administered the oaths of office to three trustees.
Dr. Wilson presented the board’s order canvassing the election returns for trustee places 1, 2 and 3 and said the returns ‘‘reflect the expressed desires of the residents and qualified voters of the district’’ and complied with applicable law. The order named Randy Campbell as trustee for Place 1, Jennifer Erickson for Place 2 and Chelsea Kelly for Place 3.
The canvass recited vote totals as part of the official record and declared each named candidate had received a plurality of the votes cast. A trustee moved to approve the canvass; after a second the board voted to accept the certification by a 5–0 vote.
Following certification, the board administered the oath of office. Randy Campbell, Jennifer Erickson and Chelsea Kelly each repeated the oath to ‘‘preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States and of this state’’ and were congratulated and invited to the dais.
Why it matters: Certification completes the formal step that validates the election winners and enables the newly elected trustees to assume their duties and participate in board business.
The board then recessed to executive session to discuss officer nominations and returned to conduct the reorganization of officers (see separate article). The meeting adjourned after reorganizing and electing officers.
