The Abbot Public Library Board of Trustees received updates on programming, fundraising and outreach during an interim Zoom meeting on April 30.
Director Kimberly A. Grad said photo albums for high school students should be completed by the end of the coming week, and that hardware for displays or exhibits is expected to arrive the same timeframe. The board discussed plans for a reception scheduled for Saturday the 16th; the Killam Foundation board will be invited to the reception. Staff continued planning for June author events, including appearances by Meg Waite Clayton on June 29 and Phyllis Karas on June 3 (the latter co-sponsored by the JCC).
The board heard that an APLF-funded survey remains live. In outreach updates, Friends of the Library volunteers placed ducks around town for National Library Week and reported 18 were returned, which drew positive community feedback. A Pop-Up Book Sale at the Council on Aging on April 28 raised about $150; the Friends said they plan to hand out facts about the library at Town Meeting.
The meeting closed without taking other formal actions on programming or fundraising; trustees moved to adjourn and approved the motion by roll call.
