HCPSS seeks $27.1 million in state funds for FY2027 school capital projects

Lubley described the multi-stage state allocation process (75% recommendations in December, 90% in February and 100% in May) and said HCPSS structured the capital presentation this year to foreground state-eligible projects. Council members asked about maximizing available funding and requested comparative figures showing state contributions over prior years; Lubley said staff would provide that information.
What happens next: CR 183 is preliminarily before the council as part of the FY27 capital planning cycle; the Board of Education's request will be folded into the county's overall FY27 budget and acted on later in the budget cycle.
