Altenburg School Board elects officers for 2025–26 during reorganization

The Altenburg District #48 Board of Education completed its 2025–26 reorganization during the April 10 open session at the APS music/art room, electing new officers and administering the board oath.
Board members adjourned the regular meeting for reorganization and then approved a slate of officers. The board appointed Ashley Steffens as board secretary (motion by Brittany Hecht; second by Cary Roth). The oath of office was read by Andrew Lichtenegger, Lindsay Palisch and Cary Roth.
The board then nominated and approved Jessica Hecht as president (motion by Lindsay Palisch; second by Andrew Lichtenegger), Cary Roth as vice president (motion by Brittany Hecht; second by Lindsay Palisch) and Brittany Hecht as treasurer (motion by Lindsay Palisch; second by Cary Roth). Each nomination and appointment was approved by recorded vote, 6–0.
The reorganization concluded with the board returning to regular session. The meeting minutes record formal motions, seconders, and unanimous approval for each officer appointment. The board then proceeded to routine business for the evening.
