The Richmond City Council on March 25 approved issuing a Notice of Award to VF Anderson Builders for the Watermain Replacement Project with a contract value of $2,889,143.
The Public Works Committee, with consultant support from Olsson, presented a bid tabulation and recommended the apparent low bidder. The recommended award includes the base bid and the majority of alternate bid items. Councilor Deanna Guy moved to approve the Notice of Award and to authorize the City Administrator to sign; Councilor Barb Hardwick seconded the motion. The roll call vote was 7-0.
The contract approval authorizes staff to proceed with executing the contract and coordinating construction. The council did not set a calendar completion date for the watermain project in the March 25 discussion; staff will handle contract execution and scheduling under the terms recommended by the Public Works Committee and the project engineer.
